Polyethylene & Polyurethane Article
Typical Viscosity: 500 - 25000cst

Polyethylene and Polyurethane are types of Petroleum based plastics. Polyethylene is available in various grades depending on its intended use from plastic bags, foams to pipes. The grades in which it is available are known as Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE), and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE).
Polyurethane is used to manufacture foams used in soft furnishings from sofas, beds and mattresses, sponges, acoustic and insulation foam board, spray foam and also with flexible foam packaging where expanding foam is placed inside a bag forming to the shape of products. Isocyanates are used in conjunction with Polyurethane which is highly toxic.
Given the viscosity of Polyethylene, and polyurethane positive displacement pumps are used which operate slowly, with low shear ensuring product consistency and for added safety without a mechanical seal ensuring a zero leak free environment and full product containment. Air ingress can also cause the premature activation of foams and the eradication of seals ensures air ingress is not a possibility.
