Dosing or Metering Pumps, which are also known as Chemical Injection and Proportioning Pumps, are used for the consistent and accurate delivery of set volumes into a process.

Such pumps are typically of positive displacement design to ensure that accurate volumes are dosed regardless of the pressure of the line they are injecting into. They can be controlled in a number of ways from the speed of rotation, stroke length within a solenoid Metering design or via relay or timer.

Examples of applications include dosing of chemicals into process, dye traces into fuels or fluid transfer in liquid filling machines.
