Diaphragm metering pumpIf you are experiencing issues with your Diaphragm Metering Pump, the below guide can help you diagnose any issues, or speak to one of our Technical Sales Engineers for further assistance:

Problem

Possible Cause

Remedy

Inconsistent Dosing

Clogged Suction Filters

Clean Filters, and change filters where required

Diaphragm Rupture / Breaking

Check chemical compatibility. Examine service history to check service   life is as expected. Check pressure pump is experiencing as system could be over   pressurised, or blockage in pump

Blocked inlet / outlet valve

Clean valves and examine cause of blockage. If continues move to a pump   design without valves or incorporate flushing regime.

Incorrect set up

Ensure diaphragm metering pump has been installed with a strainer, loading   valve on outlet, pressure relief valve and non return valve on pipework connection

Inconsistent flow

If flow varies wildly and the metering pump does not match the requirements   of the flow the pump will struggle to keep up. Ensure transfer rate and   metering pump are matched

Electric Motor not operational

No Power

Check electrical motor

Motor Overloaded

Check absorbed power of pump

Zero Flow

Inlet / Outlet Valves Blocked

Clean valves and examine cause of blockage. If continues move to a pump   design without valves or incorporate flushing regime.

Adjustment Flow set at 0%

Check set up of pump

Leakage

Diaphragm Rupture

Check chemical compatibility. Examine service history to check service   life is as expected. Check pressure pump is experiencing as system could be over   pressurised, or blockage in pump

Seal Failure

Examine O Rings to determine cause of failure. Check and replace.   Monitor closely.

Excess Pressure

Monitor pump and system pressure. Check suction and discharge lines   for blockages.
