Polypropylene Plastic Swimming Pool Filter for Protecting the Pump and System
Urgent Enquiry for a New Swimming Pool Filtration System
The pump is one of the most vital parts of a swimming pool installation, it is crucial it is protected to ensure water circulates effectively to maintain a hygienic environment for users. It is common for objects and particles to enter the system; these particles can damage the pump and create a displeasing swimming experience if they enter the pool.
Installing a filtration system before the pump not only protects the pump from damage but also stops any objects entering the swimming area. We always recommend that a filter is fitted as centrifugal pumps cannot handle the passage of large suspended solids, these can block the impeller and stop operation and therefore create dirty and unhygienic water.
We were contacted by a maintenance company that had experienced just this. The existing strainer was ineffective, solids such as stones, leaves and plasters had entered the pump and caused damage. As a result, the pump was not operational and the water had become dirty, the pool was temporarily shut down and a replacement filter required urgently to avoid any further downtime.
Selecting the most suitable Basket Strainer with Polypropylene Housing and Stainless Steel 304 Internal Basket
We have a wide range of basket strainers available in various materials, including polypropylene, cast iron and bronze. We have a great deal of experience supplying filters for both domestic and industrial swimming pools, after discussions with the customer we were able to ascertain the size required. A DN100 (4”) flanged filter was selected with polypropylene housing and stainless steel 304 internal basket. The mesh inside the basket collects solid particles as they pass through the filter and stops them entering the pump inlet. When the strainer becomes clogged over time, the basket can easily be removed and emptied, making it effective once again.
The new basket strainer was delivered to the end user quickly and ensured the pool became operational. They can now rest assured that the pump will be protected, and clean water will circulate to create a safe and pleasant environment for their customers.
