Carbon Capture & Storage Industry

Carbon dioxide CO² is produced during the combustion of natural materials and the decay of organic materials. Typical industries known for contributing large amounts of CO² include refineries, power plants, chemical plants, and transportation such as cars, buses, trucks, and ships.

Scrubbers have been utilized to reduce carbon emissions but other ways to achieve large reductions in emissions involves carbon capture and storage.Exhaust Gas Treatment

CO² is captured at source at industrial process facilities where it is then compressed and transported via ship or pipelines. CO² is then stored in locations such as depleted oil and gas fields, or within deep saline formations.

Typical processes within carbon capture and storage include seawater cooling, Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) injection for the drying of CO², amine spraying,  injection and liquid CO² transfer.

Our pumps are designed for the handling of liquid CO² through various design features such as peripheral style impellers ensuring low NPSH can be accommodated which is crucial during liquid CO² transfer. Our piston pump range can deliver large pressures for the injection of CO² and accommodate high inlet pressures.
