Chemical Manufacture Industry

The chemical industry is one of the most demanding markets for pump specification and design due to the vast number of chemicals, concentrations and blends available making selection difficult. This is particularly true when certain blends are branded and manufacturers for commercial reasons do not want to reveal its chemical construction and so pump selection expertise is needed to ensure the correct solution is chosen.

We provide pumps for the following types of chemicals:Chemicals

  • Acids & Alkalis

  • Solvents

  • Toxic Substances

  • Waste Chemicals

At North Ridge due to our vast experience across industries, we understand the importance of the correct selection for Chemical applications, specifically:

  • Batching- Transferring predetermined amounts accurately and repeatedly

  • Circulation– Certain chemicals should be kept circulating to prevent chemical separation and keep solids in suspension

  • Dosing & Metering – Dosing small amounts, injecting fluids into a larger batch

  • Sampling– Transferring small amounts for testing of batchLaboratory

  • Transfer – Chemical transfer into tanks, tankers, or bulk offloading

We have various pump features available to ensure such chemicals are handled in the most optimal way:

  • Back pull out design

  • ISO2858 – The standard in chemical pump manufacture which means pump dimensions meet a required standard. Internally confined gaskets are used which do not blow under pressure

  • Magnetic Drive – This ensures the pump is sealless and the pump head does not need to be maintained offering full containment of process fluids

  • Singe, Double seal flush with barrier fluid, Cartridge seal for full containment of fluid or API682 seal

  • OH1 – Overhung bearing design offering with additional bearings and supported pump head.

  • Full Containment – Pumps can have the option of full containment should any liquid leak the process fluid is kept within the pump head

  • Leakage Alarm – Should any pump parts fail an alarm can sound to alert users and shut down the pump

  • Pressure Relief – Relief mechanisms in place ensuring pressure does not continue to build up ensuring pressures do not build to dangerous levels

  • Pulsation Dampener – Controlling the pulsation of fluid eliminating frothing and pulses in the pump flow.

  • Metallic and Non Metallic Designs – This ensures all chemicals and blends can be catered for.

  • Atex – Fully ATEX rated pump head, and motor ensuring flammable liquids can be handled.
