Railway Industry
Rail transport is currently used for approximately 9% of UK freight. Whilst the vast majority of UK freight (75%) is delivered by HGVs, rail is actively encouraged as a method for haulage as each train can reduce the number of HGVs by 75. Rail hubs are actively encouraged due to their location away from inner-city areas and the reduction of road vehicles hubs bring which is often why incentives are used to promote such hubs.
We provide a variety of pumps for rail applications which include:
High-pressure piston pumps for the cleaning of tracks to remove leaves
Train Washing - similar to a car wash where rotating brushes and water clean trains and carriages.
Lubrication equipment for lubricating slide plates switch tips, points, crank bearings, fishplate and breather, signals, counterbalance, gears and pulleys
Cooling of electrical and mechanical equipment including gearboxes and traction coolers
Refuelling of diesel-powered trains via high flow diesel transfer pumps reducing the time for trains stood idle
Sewage emptying from trains via our non-clog design of sewage emptying pumps
Fluid supply for trains for domestic services such as clean water for drinking and washing, and screen wash transfer
Loading and unloading of railcard trucks and stripping of liquids from rail tanks including crude oil, chemicals, fuels, lng, and hygienic products
Dewatering of culverts which are overflows for wastewater at the side of rails
Air conditioning of carriages
