Azcue BT-HH Pump & Spare Parts

From their state-of-the-art factory in Northern Spain, Azcue pumps have manufactured marine type approved pumps for over 100 years. Previously operating under the name of Bombas Azcue, they have become a market leader with their pumps now installed onboard over 10,000 marine vessels.

Amongst their range is the BT-HH series of close coupled high-pressure triple screw pumps, these positive displacement pumps are designed for transferring fuels such as marine diesel and low sulphur gas oil, and low and high viscosity lubricating oils for all ship wide applications. This range can be installed either horizontally or vertically, the design is compact and robust with the largest models capable of producing flow rates up to 30m³/hr and high pressures up to 50 bar.

Having their own foundry located directly next door to the factory allows Azcue the flexibility to produce their pumps quickly in a wide range of materials. The casing of the BT-HH screw pumps can be manufactured in either aluminium, cast iron or ductile iron and the screws can be machined from nitrided cast iron, nitrided steel or hardened steel depending on application requirements.

Azcue’s entire range of triple screw pumps are marine type approved by all classification bodies including ABS, Lloyds, DNV and Bureau Veritas. The BT-HH series is dimensionally interchangeable with other manufacturer’s pumps currently installed onboard ships, or they can be specified for new applications involving fuels and oils such as the below:

·         Lube oil transfer

·         Lubricating oil circulation

·         Fuel transfer, including Diesel (DO), Marine diesel oil (MDO), Low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO), Heavy fuel oil (HFO)

·         Fuel oil cargo loading and unloading

·         Burner/boiler feed

·         Fuel oil separators

Special versions with high temperature seals, magnetic drive and Atex versions for flammable fluids/environments can be manufactured on request.

FAQS

We supply all parts associated with the Azcue BT-HH screw pumps, these include; driving screws, idler screws, screw sets, casings, mechanical seals, o-rings and gaskets. Any parts labelled on the drawing and parts list are available for purchase, either individually or as part of a kit.
The pump needs to be disassembled and inspected as part of a maintenance program to correctly identify any damaged parts. The drawing and parts list then need to be viewed to find the correct part description and position number.
The basic information required to obtain a quotation includes; the pump model number, serial number if available, description or name of the part and the position number of the part if available. This information allows us to correctly identify the parts required and to identify the correct materials. The serial number is a 6 digit number, beginning with either 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on the age of the pump.
Premature pump failure can be an indication of system problems or incorrect pump selection. Common causes of premature pump failure include; incompatibility of the pump materials with the fluid, incorrect pipework size, incorrect type of pump and incorrect size of pump. We can help identify the cause of your pump failure if you provide the following information; description of the application, fluid being pumped, viscosity, temperature, flow rate required, pressure required, inlet conditions and bore of pipework.
This depends on several factors; how frequently are spare parts required? how long has the pump been in operation? and the price of the required spare parts versus the cost of a complete new pump. For example, if a new casing, screw set and mechanical seal are required, then it is more cost effective to purchase a complete new pump as a large proportion of the high value parts are required. If the pump is wearing frequently and prematurely, then this may be an indication that the wrong type or size of pump is installed. It is a good idea to talk to us in this situation as we may be able to identify the issue with your pump or system and select a more suitable pump for your requirements.
No, the position numbers of the spare parts from the drawings are generic codes consistent across all pump ranges. For example, 4200 is the code for mechanical seal and 4610 is the code for o-rings. This is to make it simple for customers when requesting quotations for spare parts, the full part code is obtained once the goods have been shipped.
A complete set of idler screws and driving screws must be ordered together to ensure the pump operates correctly. All three screws should be machined together to ensure they mesh, and the required efficiency is achieved. For this reason, we cannot supply individual idler screws or driving screws.
The Kit Mini contains the Mechanical Seal (4200.1), O Rings (4610.7, 4610.5, 4610.6), Casing Gasket (4510.2) and Coupling Bush Set. There are various part codes for this kit depending on the model which can be found in the Spare parts PDF located above.
This Kit contains the Kit Mini - Mechanical Seal, O Rings, Casing Gasket, Coupling Bush Set and a bearing bush (3610.1).
This Kit Max contains the Kit Mini - Mechanical Seal, O Rings, Casing Gasket, Coupling Bush Set, as well as the bearing bush from the kit medium. It also contains the Idler Spindles codes (2170.1 & 2170.2), Driving Spindle (2160) and Relief Valve Spring (5251.1). There are various part codes for this kit depending on the model which can be found in the Spare parts PDF located above.
This is the version of the pump, where slight improvements may be made. If a D4 model is supplied to replace an aged D2, or D3 model, the performance will remain the same, as well as it being dimensionally interchangeable.
