The FLEXODAMP FDR Rigid version pulsation dampeners are installed downstream of the pump to absorb pulsations, hammering, noise and vibrations to create a smooth and constant flow. Compressed air is fed into the inner and outer tube to create a positive pressure that flexes the inner tube to absorb pulsations and adjusts automatically depending on the system pressure.
The FDR series can be used with various types of positive displacement pumps that create a pulsating flow, these include air operated diaphragm pumps, peristaltic pumps, low pressure piston pumps and eccentric disk pumps. Most pulsating pump manufacturers recommend the use of a dampener to protect the system and increase the lifespan of key components such as valves and flow meters from damage due to hammer and excessive vibrations.
FLEXODAMP pulsation dampeners are unique in that they sit in line with the pipework and do not require additional space. The flexibility of length, connection types, connection materials, inner tube materials and the availability of both industrial and sanitary versions make the FDR series ideal for most application and liquid types. We also have a range of flexible pulsation dampeners that are available in longer lengths and with smaller connection sizes, please see the FD range for further details.
